Owner
Miranda Romanowicz is the Owner of Open Minds Cambridge and the CEO and Co-Founder of the Ontario Personal Support Workers Association (OPSWA) and the Canadian Support Workers Association (CANSWA). A graduate of the Personal Support Worker program at Mohawk College, Miranda spent many years working on the front lines in long-term care, home care, and hospital settings before transitioning into advocacy and leadership. Through her work with OPSWA and CANSWA, she has become a leading voice for Personal Support Workers across Canada, working with governments, healthcare organizations, and community partners to strengthen recognition, professional standards, and support for the profession.
Inspired by both her professional experience and her personal journey as a parent of a child with autism, Miranda founded Open Minds Cambridge to create a welcoming, inclusive space for neurodivergent adults and families. Her vision is to build a PSW-led community hub that focuses on dignity, life-skills development, social connection, and meaningful opportunities for individuals to thrive within their community.

Lead Personal Support Worker and General Manager
Danielle Mann is a dedicated Lead Personal Support Worker with nearly 13 years of experience supporting individuals with autism and mental health needs. She has spent much of her career working alongside neurodivergent individuals, providing consistent, compassionate, and individualized care. Danielle believes in meeting people where they are and supporting them in ways that honour their autonomy, dignity, and lived experience. Her calm presence, strong communication skills, and deep understanding of neurodiversity allow her to build meaningful connections with those she supports, as well as their families and care team.

Direct Support Worker
Becca Stolp Romanowicz is a Direct Support Worker with Open Minds Cambridge and will begin her Personal Support Worker (PSW) studies in September 2026. She loves working at Open Minds and is passionate about supporting individuals at the centre by creating a safe, welcoming, and encouraging environment.
Raised alongside her older brother, who has autism, Becca developed a deep understanding of neurodiversity, advocacy, and the importance of inclusive support from an early age. This personal connection continues to shape her compassionate approach in her work. She plans to pursue Paramedicine in the future, building on her PSW foundation as part of her long-term goals in frontline community care.

Partner
The Ontario Personal Support Workers Association (OPSWA) is the professional association representing Personal Support Workers across Ontario. Established in 2010 by PSWs for PSWs, OPSWA works to elevate the profession through advocacy, professional standards, education, and support for frontline workers who provide essential care in communities across the province. The association also provides professional resources, liability protection, and continuing education opportunities to ensure PSWs are equipped to deliver safe, high-quality care.
OPSWA is proudly partnered with Open Minds Cambridge because both organizations share a common vision: building community-based, person-centered support led by trained Personal Support Workers. Through this partnership, OPSWA helps ensure that programs at Open Minds Cambridge are grounded in professional PSW leadership, best-practice standards, and a strong commitment to supporting neurodivergent adults and families in the Cambridge community. Together, the organizations are creating a space where professional care, inclusion, and community connection come together to make a meaningful difference.
